Drinkin On A Ferry (Why Not Post Something?)
So I’m on my way to the last Made in Seattle, hope it’s good but it’s not the point, and I find myself sitting on the ferry with nothing to do but type (or work on music but quit judging me). So here is my drinking some Bud on the ferry post. And it’s lame. Ha! So with that said here’s some of the things I’ve been thinking since I pulled in.
1) My mom keeps giving me shit because I’m not registered to vote (turns out when your in the military and you spend over 3 months completely isolated from the world it don’t give you much time to register.) I kinda feel bad but I’m happy I live in Washington where Obama is going to stomp that ass even if I don’t vote. Still I’m ashamed that I have not registered. P Diddy gonna get me.
2) I found a awesome Juno 6 for sale and I want it. I want is so hard.
3) Guitar Hero is like pot for musicians. You know you should be doing something more constructive (like making your own music) but your perfectly complacent ripping fake ax to some vintage Fleetwood Mac
4) PBR is as cheap as your mother and even more delicious.
5) Seattle Weekly is boring.
6) You know what Dales. Fuck you. We all warned you not to fuck up and now your life is ruined and I can’t even fucking start to feel bad for you. You knew they were going to rip your life to bits and you gave them a reason to. You are a dumb shit. You are stupid and I can’t believe I wasted so much fucking time trying to talk your spirits up just to watch you shit it out on the floor in under 12 hours I would have never fucking bothered. No one feels bad.
7) Ok, I stand corrected I do feel bad (venting complete) but there’s nothing we can do to help now. I wish you the best of luck.
Seattle looks really cool from the ferry. Like, if you’ve never seen it. It’s pretty fucking cool.
9) TV On The Radio’s new album could be way better but it isn’t.
10) Post patrol vent, Fuck the following things:
a. Fried Shrimp
b. Getting bad news.
c. Electricians
d. Republicans
e. Trucks
f. Varsity Blues
g. EABs
h. You know who you are……
i. Having to pee
j. Pmmp
k. Nothing
l. Your bullshit 1MCs
m. Training. It’s all a fuckin lie anyway you dumbshit. Stop wasting my time.
n. You, you look like a duck and your a liar.
o. Half of you.
There! Done. Seattle nears. I’ll see you at Made tonight for some Techno and your awesome.

Used Record Seattle Vol. 2
Another trip to Seattle, another small haul of awesome records. Today used tracks from both Easy Street Records & Everyday Music. I’m not going to post the rather large amount of 80s rock that I picked up but I will post the guilty pleasure trance I picked up.
I think my real goal here is to highlight all the awesome music you can get for cheap in this city.
Easy Street (only 1 this time)
Lawrence – Lowlights From The Past And Future [Mule Electronic] Cost: 3.00
Lawrence makes this lush and delicate techno/deep house that just feels warm. Always worth giving a listen to his work and this track is no different. Comes with a pretty good LoSoul remix as well.
If your not familiar with his work, here’s a more recent release of his that’s worth listening to.
Everyday Music (Pricier and less organized but if you search long enough you are going to find some gems)
Phil K Presents Y4K Part 2 [Distinctive Breaks] Cost 3.00
Sampler from his 2005 Y4K album, this EP is well worth it for a copy of Lusine’s Slur that does not require you to shell out for the full album on vinyl.
I:Cube – Ding Ding Ding [Versatile] Cost 2.60
First I:Cube release? Fuck Yeah! Great techy find. I:Cube has been a must listen producer for me ever since hearing their take on 99 & A Half.
not familar? here’s pretty cool interview with him from a little while ago.
The Aztec Mystic – Knights Of The Jaquar EP [UR] Cost 2.60
Do I really need to tell you about this? AMAZING FIND for 2.60. The track so good Sony tried to copy it. If you want to read about the drama head on over here.
Just Jack – Starz In Their Eyes [TVT] Cost 1.60
Poor man’s The Streets comes out of nowhere and pens a surprisingly good tune about how fickle pop fame can be. Complete with a prett good Ashley Beedle remix.
The Guilty Pleasure Section!
Tomaz Vs. Filterheadz – Sunshine Remixes [Intec] Cost 2.60
Huge a few years ago. It’s a great feelgood track for me.
Energy 52 – Cafe Del Mar [Arcade America] Cost 2.60
Come on! You know you liked the first Tranceport!
Grace – Not Over Yet [Perfecto] Cost 1.60
Ok, I give up my techno snob card. Fuck you, here’s the fucking awesome music video for it.
Thats all for now.

The Paused – Don’t Let The Light Touch You Darlin’
So I’ve added a new song to my profile a little while ago, but I wanted to sleep on it for a little bit to make sure that I like it.
Here You go.
Don\’t Let The Light Touch You Darlin\’
Download it or whatever.
Thanks!
Used Record Seattle Vol. 1
As most people who know me know, I hate buying records at full price. Hate it hate it hate it. One of my biggest issues with dance music is how accelerated it has become. People obsess over having the latest tracks because they think that it gives them an edge over the next dj. While this may be true during a lot of more popular music the fact is that dance music is a very faceless genre. Nobody cares if you have the latest and greatest tracks (even though keeping current in your knowledge of dance music is essential to remaining relevant.) The truth is that you can play a set of nothing but tracks from 5 or 6 years ago and no one will know the difference (except the really dance heavy people but if they judge you for playing great tracks you love from 5 years ago than fuck them). The real problem with Beatport is that it pushes the culture much much much faster than it has in recent years. Instead of a track having a 4 or 5 month life span, it’s pushed off to the side to make way for more music that comes out later that week. Instead of being a record on your shelf that you can revisit in a few years and remember why you loved it, it just becomes this file that you can easily delete to make room for the flavor of the month. I really fear that soon enough there isn’t going to be a way for classic music to be created because people are going to be so concerned with the next new thing that nothing is going to have time to settle in. So about once every 2 weeks I drag my ass out to the city to scrounge through the bins at all of the shops to find the best records I can for as cheap as possible. This Thursday (May 8th) I went out to Easy Street Records (a personal favorite for finding good used records.) Here are the results.

Metaboman – Rausgeflogen Ep [Musik Krause] Cost: 99 cent
Fantastic Ep off of Music Krause from about 2003, think Robag and friends. Glitchy stuff for all.
The Forlorn – Curses Upon Curses [Morris Audio Citysport Edition] Cost: 99 cent
One off release from Brian Zentz, my favorite former Virginia DJ now living out in Portland, is seriously awesome. A step back in the level of hardness compared to his normal productions, this is one of those tracks that sounds more relevant now that it’s been around for a little while. The B-side, Outpatient-1 comes out tops here.
Tokyo Black Star – Still Sequence EP [Innervisions] Cost: 2.00

Innervisions is one of the best labels around for fans of tech house and these guys had an amazing track called Blade Dancer that was the closing track on Carl Craig’s Fabric. This isn’t quite as good as that but the stunning remix from Ame and Dixon is the real highlight though it may be a little too slow for some people’s sets.
Laurie Anderson – Oh Superman (M.A.N.D.Y. Remix) [White] Cost: 2.00
What a find! This has been a staple in M.A.N.D.Y.’s sets for years, I’ve even heard it in their live sets before. A remix of a classic song by Laurie Anderson, I’ve been looking for this since hearing Naha close a V-day set at Rebar with the original. This bootleg came out in 2005 but didn’t see an official release until 2007’s 5 Years of Get Physical comp. This shows the Get Physical boys at their best.
Thanks for reading! More to come.

Last Night @ Broken Disco (Thank You Seattle, Fuck You Yuppies)
Thank you Seattle!
Last night was great for. I really have not had that much of a good time playing for a crowd in quite some time. Packed room by 11? Check! Crazy Dancers? Check! Cool ass friends who came to see me play? Check. The outpouring of support was great.
It’s a shame I had to leave early though. Had to get some friends home. But the real shame is what happened over at Nuemos. The fire marshal came through Nuemos and shut down about 1/2 the club prior to a Knight Riders party. I’m really happy that the promoters here are willing to work with each other and bring Travis’s guests into the lineup but it’s really fucked up how the city is targeting the clubs out here. I was pretty worried at one point that we were going to hear shit for having the volume up at Chop Suey. It shows how little respect that they have for the places that have revitalized Capitol Hill. Their going to force the parties out of that town that’s just bullshit.
Fucking condos.
So fuck you rich people who move into a cultural center full of parties and fun and then complain about where you moved.
Tonight! Broken Disco! Mochipet! Lusine! More! + Me!
Tonight is the last Broken Disco for the summer and I’m excited as all hell to be a part of it. Lets hop into the lineup for a minute.

Now aint that a line up.
I’ll be playing the Makeout lounge from 11:15 till 12:30!
Primo time.
Hope to see you out tonight. Gotta stop typing and get ready to go.
First Blog!
So, I’m actually pretty new to this whole bloging thing. It’s one of those things that got so big so quick that I just kind of disregarded how much influence that it can have upon people. I’ve been doing a myspace blog for years but I just think it’s about time to grow up a bit and get one that’s independent of them, after all spam and friend whoring is eventually going to eat that site alive.
So to start. I’m not really a credible source of anything. My opinions don’t really matter but I do spend a little bit of time running around the internet looking at things and writing about them. I’m deeply into electronic music and have been DJing for about 7 years now. Minimal techno and the such. I dj under the name the Googly and have recently been creating Ambient music under the name The Paused. I’m currently in the military and I’ve got a wife and 2 cats.
I’ll be using this site to post about the 20 billion things that I’m interested in including upcoming musical highlights that you should be going to about the Seattle area.
Well that’s about it. Time to get with the posting.
