Found this little guy today during my internet wandering. Turns out it’s the work of de la mancha (who makes some of the best freeware you can find on the web, and some stuff that cost money that’s worth picking up as well check his shit out at www.delamancha.co.uk) and some guy I’ve never heard of that runs bleeping edge which really needs to be updated more.

But reagardless. This plug in is mighty cool and definatly worth downloading and throwing it over some stuff to see what type of sounds come out the other end. Step seqencers, comb delays, yada yada… it’s much more fun to just see what it does for yourself.

Audio Damage – Rough Rider

So I guess the net is a buzz about this free Audio Damage compressor plug in. And rightfully so. Awesome free plugin that has a unique sound about it and Audio Damage drops it in our laps for free. I guess it’s a effective promo because I just dropped money on their Automation plugin (which I’ll be reviewing here soon) and I’m pretty amazed by their whole line up so far.

Here’s a little more about it.

Rough Rider is a modern compressor with a bit of “vintage” style bite and a uniquely warm sound. Perfect for adding compression effects to your drum buss, it also sounds great with synth bass, clean guitar, and backing vocals. Definitely not an all-purpose compressor, Rough Rider is at its best when used to add pump to rhythmic tracks. Of course, you can use it however you’d like. The Compressor Police aren’t gonna come to your house and give you a citation. Slap it on a track and crank some knobs.
